Programs & Services

NSL Food Closet Pantry (located in rear of building)

Request for food bags are accepted  between 9-10AM Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Call (513)-924-1200.
Pick up time 12:30 -1PM same day of request.

NSL Food Closet pantry provides Supplemental and/or Emergency groceries to feed up to 3-4 days.

Ohio Benefits Bank (OBB) food assistance and other assistance maybe applied  through Ohio Benefits Bank (OBB) at our site.

Individuals may register as new clients during normal business hours by calling 924-1200.
Information & Resources

Referrals are available for financial assistance, healthcare, and housing by partnering agencies.  Out-of-Norwood resources are  available.

Informational workshops and presentations on various topics of interest such as health, nutrition, money saving tips, energy efficiency, education and improving family communications.

Holiday Assistance
This program is made possible by the generous donations of the  Norwood community.
Based upon need for clients attending our adult education and resource management classes, may receive one or more of the following items:

  • food baskets
  • toys for needy children
  • senior shut-in stockings
  • winter gloves & hats

- Eligibility for the Holiday Assistance program is determined case-by-case with current NSL clients taking priority. Others will be considered individually by our social worker. Call for application at 924-1200 opt. 0

NSL Social Worker is available by appointment to assist new applicants.

Consumer Newsletters:
NSL Informer  is a periodic consumer newsletter with helpful information and articles for clients and the community-at-large.

Digame  is a periodic Spanish-speaking consumer newsletter with helpful information and articles.

These NSL consumer newsletters are distributed through our programs and in strategic locations throughout the community.
English learners from around the world come to NSL for empowering instruction.
The Do Right! health initiative is a program of  The Center for Closing the Health Gap of Cincinnati whose purpose is to reduce health disparities for Afro-American, white Appalachian and Hispanic communities.

NSL has developed Norwood Do Right! /Hazlo Bien!a preventive health program and activities targeting Hispanic residents since our March 2008Launch: 
  • Healthy Latino Cooking Demonstrations, exercise classes in three locations, Norwood Walking Club, and Norwood Community Gardens @ Linden Pointe.
  • Over 300 people have participated since 2007.

Norwood Service League and Ashland Avenue Baptist Church co-sponsor  Norwood Community  Thanksgiving Dinner every 4th Sunday of November prior to official Thanksgiving Day. 
We also co-sponsor Norwood Christmas Celebration for Children and their  families the 2nd Sunday of December.
